Midland East Power Limited, a private power plant, started commercial production.
Power Development Board sources said the company has officially started production from Monday.
This 150-MW Power Well-based power plant is situated at Char Chartla in Ashuganj of Brahmanbaria.
Company Secretary Yasin Ahmed told the Jugantar that the engine of the world’s renowned engine maker Norway was used in the Rolls Royce engine of Norway. According to the agreement from the date of commercial production, the electricity will be supplied to the PDB for 15 years. The first day from the sophisticated center, 155.34 megawatt electricity was produced.
Note that this power plant is one of the government’s fast track power generation centers. State Minister for Power Nasrul Hamid welcomed the center to come to production in due course.
On Monday, he told Jugantor that since this center has come to production, Brahmanbaria area will not be in power and there will be no electricity crisis.
