River Gypsies Paragraph :
River gypsies are a great part of our ethnic people. They are known as “bedey” to our local people. They have their own life style and rich culture. They always live in groups. They do not have their own land. They lead a nomadic life. They travel from one place to another by boat. Their boats are their houses, In winter they come back to the main land and live in tents. During the monsoon they remain busy with fishing, Men catch snakes and entertain people with snake charming, Women go from door to door to sell bangles, cheap ornaments and cheap cosmetics. At present our river gypsies are facing many problems Long water ways dry up during the dry seasons. So, many are thinking of leaving their old life style. Now they can understand the value of education in life. Many have already gone to the town to educate their children. Our government is also offering them voting rights and bank loans to change their poor condition.

Our government is also offering them voting rights, permanent houses and easy bank loans to change their poor condition. Many mobile boat schools are coming up for educating their children. Our government has already taken many steps to improve their lot for the greater interest of the nation.
